Appears as William BARTER on some settler returns. William BARTLETT appears on the return made by John COLSTON of Frome, originally accepted as a Party Leader. When COLSTON was recalled to his regiment after Peterloo this party was merged with Samuel JAMES' Party from Westbury

James BARTLETT (father of the settler) died aged 50 in 1808, but his wife Mary (nee BROWN) died in Chalford aged 76 and was buried in All Saints, Westbury on 29 June 1834.
