DIED at his residence, Fort Peddie, on Tuesday 4 April, Mr. W.C. DAVIES, late of Bridge North, of a short and painful illness, deceased has left a widow and five children, to lament and mourn their irreparable loss.

DIED at Cape Town at the house of John FAIRBAIRN Esq, 47 St.George's-street, the pet equestrian nag called Sir Harry. The feeling entertainer followed the corpse to the cemetery of the Independent Chapel, and pronounced a splendid eulogium, weeping over the grave, and in a poetic phrensy exclaiming "My nag, my nag, would that I had died for her, my nag!" The noble mourners, including the Bishop and all the Judges, were overwhelmed with feeling, as well as all the Shopkeepers of Cape Town.

All Persons claiming to be Creditors under this Estate are required to take notice that the Undersigned have been duly elected to, and confirmed in, the appointment of Joint Trustees of the said Estate; and the acting Master had appointed the Third Meeting to be held before him, in the Master's Office, Cape Town, on Wednesday the 17th May next at 10 o'clock in the forenoon, for the proof of debts and for receiving the Trustees' Report – and also for the purpose of giving directions to the said trustees as to the management of the said Estate.
