News is to hand from Durban that Dr. Levin, late of the Jewish Sick-ward in Johannesburg, has committed suicide by taking an overdose of morphia. The doctor had some time back lost one of his arms through an accident at football, and a large number of operations had been performed, the shoulder blade being taken clean out. Dr. Levin had frequently said that he knew his life was to be short, for none of the operations had been successful. The unfortunate young medico had been in the habit of taking morphia to alleviate the pain. The many friends of Dr. Levin will sympathise with his friends and relatives in Australia in his untimely death.
