It is with great sadness that we heard of the sudden tragic accident that has taken the life of our friend and colleague, chairman of Bloodstock SA, The Breeders Association and Director of Racing SA. We, in horse racing, in the Western Cape, have had a wonderful association over many years with Basil. Very recently I had just concluded further sponsorship with Basil for our Cape Racing. Basil was a good friend to Western Cape Racing and his memory will be with us for many years. His contribution to SA Racing will be sorely missed.
