ABADIE, Major Eustace Henry Egremont, D.S.O. 1900; 9th Lancers; b. 24 Jan. 1877; s. of Maj.-Gen. H. R. Abadie, q.v. Entered army, 1897; served South Africa, 1899-1900, including Belmont, Modder River, Magersfontein. Poplar Grove, Kimberley, Paardeberg, Bloemfontein, Driefontein actions, Vet River, Zaand River, Johannesburg Diamond Hill, Belfast, and Eastern Transvaal (despatches, Queen's medal, eight clasps; King's medal, two clasps; D.S.O.) passed Staff College. Clubs: Army and Navy, Cavalry, Royal Automobile.
