Sir

I have received information that there is a new Colony intended to be settled under the auspices of this Government, in some part of Africa, in the neighbourhood of the Cape of Good Hope: but I have not been properly acquainted with the mode of application, nor under what restrictions & regulations persons may emigrate. I therefore beg leave to state that I am about 30 years of age; a painter plumber and Glazier, sound and healthy, & extremely desirous of leaving this Country for ever. My wife is about 30, and one daughter, an only child about 9 years of age. If there is any particular method of application I beg to be put in the right way of obtaining my desire.

I am hon'd sir

Your obed serv't
