The humble petition of Thomas HOBBS
Humbly Sheweth
Petitioner has served H. M. in the royal Navy, on and of 20 years, and is discharged in consequence of reduction.
Petitioner is a stout healthy man and cannot get a ship or yet any employment -is both pennyless and urged to the greatest necessity for the support of nature most humbly implores to obtain a passage to the Cape of Good Hope, and to settle in that station according to his Majesties - and the stationed Governors rules and regulations of the aforesaid place.
Petitioner most humbly implores answer to the underneath address and in duty bound pet'r shall pray
