WHITEHEAD, George - Extra Data

He is not listed in the Settler Handbook but is supposed to have been an 1820 Settler. He certainly emigrated to the  Cape with his wife and two sons from Sellindge in Kent, possibly taking the place of a family who pulled out at the last minute. His gravestone in Port Elizabeth can be seen here.

 

Death Notices (Cape Archives) of sons Stephen and George show that the whole family emigrated.

Witnesses: Thos. POTTS and Isaac STILES (the latter witnerssed all marriages on the page)
