John Henry's wife Sarah was born Sarah HORNBLOW. Her first husband was George MOORE and she later married James THOMAS (1) and Charles GURNEY (2) at the Cape.

George MOORE married Sarah HORNBLOW on 17 June 1810 in St.Martin in the Fields.

Mary Catherine MOORE, daughter of George MOORE and Sarah HORNBLOW, born 30 March 1811 in Colchester, Essex

 

Two further children were born of this marriage, but did not accompany John and Sarah to the Cape; Sarah Georgiana MOORE and John Cotton MOORE.

John CADLE, bachelor, married Sarah MOORE, spinster [sic] on 29 January 1816 in St.Paul's, Deptford.

Both signed their names.

Witnesses: Ebenezer HORNBLOW and Hannah HORNBLOW

John Henry CADLE and Mary Catherine MOORE died in 1823 and Sarah applied for relief from the Committee for Distressed Settlers

 

The will, of Sarah GURNEY (1843) lists the following children as being still alive:

Charles GURNEY Junior, Sarah MOORE (now Mrs. POMEREY), John Cotton MOORE, William CADLE, Elizabeth CADLE (now Mrs. BRICKHILL), Henry CADLE, Catherine CADLE (now Mrs. FORREST), George CADLE, Ann THOMAS (now Mrs.McCARTHY and James THOMAS (blind)

Sarah Georgiana MOORE, daughter of George MOORE, corn merchant, married Augustus Stephen Jeffery POMERY on 16 September 1838 in St.Dunstan's, Stepney.
